You're the light, you're the night
You're the color of my blood
You're the cure, you're the pain
You're the only thing I wanna touch
Never knew that it could mean so much, so much

You're the fear, I don't care
'Cause I've never been so high
Follow me through the dark
Let me take you past the satellites
You can see the world you brought to life, to life

So love me like you do, l-l-love me like you do
Love me like you do, l-l-love me like you do
Touch me like you do, t-t-touch me like you do
What are you waiting for?

Fading in, fading out
On the edge of paradise
Every inch of your skin is a Holy Grail I've gotta find
Only you can set my heart on fire, on fire
Yeah, I'll let you set the pace
'Cause I'm not thinking straight
My head spinning around, I can't see clear no more
What are you waiting for?

Love me like you do, l-l-love me like you do (like you do)
Love me like you do, l-l-love like you do
Touch me like you do, t-t-touch like you do
What are you waiting for?

Love me like you do, l-l-love like you do (like you do)
Love me like you do, l-l-love like you do (yeah)
Touch me like you do, t-t-touch like you do
What are you waiting for?

I'll let you set the pace
'Cause I'm not thinking straight
My head spinning around, I can't see clear no more
What are you waiting for?

Love me like you do, l-l-love like you do (like you do)
Love me like you do, l-l-love like you do (yeah)
Touch me like you do, t-t-touch like you do
What are you waiting for?

Love me like you do, l-l-love like you do (like you do)
Love me like you do, l-l-love me like you do (yeah)
Touch me like you do, t-t-touch me like you do
What are you waiting for?

    Song Meaning

I think this song is about a girl who is so in love with a boy that she can't think straight anymore, can't focus. "cause i've never been so high - 'Cause I'm not thinking straight -My head spinning around I can't see clear no more"

But i also think that she is loving him from a distance "what are you waiting for" it sounds like she doesn't have him yet, or that they are taking it very slowly.

Anyone who has been in love can relate to the song i think, the lack of patience to be with the one you love, the hunger and the loss.

Catchy song, Ellie has nice vocals. Shame the millennial snowflakes trash it because of it's association with a film based off a book that was based on Twighlight fanfiction, you know the crap that millennial marxists cream their panties over. They're just pissed they didn't get a book and movie deal for their slash fics, which are trillion times worse than 50ShadesOfGrey ever was.

    My Opinion

In my opinion the girl want the boy to be wild with her, sexually. (Follow me to the dark, paradise, fading in fading out, head spinning=pleasure, what are you waiting for- this are the words that makes the whole meaning) all that girl want is sex, basically love. Thank you.

I think it’s about a girl whose old flame shows back into the picture that she is afraid to let back in but can’t stop it from happening because he knows all the things to say and do . So she is just giving in and asking him what he is waiting for to just love her like only he can do because only he truly knows what she needs

Yeah seems like the song was written to fit the storyline of Fifty Shades. Looks like the songs off the movie are getting all the hits for their association rather than their own merits.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
