A Silent Planet

When I landed, I felt the surface move.
Will I always be away from home?
I felt the crest of a wave, crash over me.
Underneath the ground, there is a photogenic town,
It calls me under.
I have floated for some time, and I have seen this glistening isle,
Where I heard thunder.
And the storms, they know my name.
I have cursed every drop of rain.
I know we’re searching, but I don’t know what I will find.
I fell into the light.
The logs, are stacked up for the winter. The dogs are peaking up through the cold. The harvest is coming to an end now, and my heart is the only thing left to send home. I will board, a Greyhound in the morning. It was take me across these frozen lands. The Prairies have never been the kindest, to me. But the windows, now, are clear enough to see through.
I’m asleep on, the only moving vessel that I see. I’m thinking, now, of warmer times to come. Let me open myself up to my dreams now. I know that I am half-way through the glass.
The sun, peaks over your eyes.
I look into you, watch over me.
The way, you look now, in the night.
You’re different again.
On to the next life, you will go.
I found a home in you.
