Demon Limbs Lyrics
Oh I know
I can feel the shifting in my bones
Enclosed are the senses so unknown
I've been changing, falling, fading
There's demons at the door patiently waiting
But I wasn't composed of broken bones or demon limbs
So please watch over me and be the light to carry me
Please be the light
Please be the light that carries me
I can feel it
Being torn from my
My hands; my innocence
This change is all so permanent
Can't you see the change in me?
I said it's all so permanent
There's no placement
No arrangement
Of words that I could say
To keep these changes away
But I wasn't composed of broken bones or demon limbs
So please watch over me and be the light to carry me
This world is a masterpiece
I canvas sheet accountable for such losses
Shout out to the artist
Who took his heart and his soul
And lost them both in the process
If it gets hold of me
Please be the saint to save me
So please watch over me
And be the light to carry me
If it gets hold of me
Please be the saint to save me
So please watch over me
And be the light to carry me
I can feel the shifting in my bones
Enclosed are the senses so unknown
I've been changing, falling, fading
There's demons at the door patiently waiting
So please watch over me and be the light to carry me
Please be the light
Please be the light that carries me
Being torn from my
My hands; my innocence
This change is all so permanent
Can't you see the change in me?
I said it's all so permanent
No arrangement
Of words that I could say
To keep these changes away
So please watch over me and be the light to carry me
I canvas sheet accountable for such losses
Shout out to the artist
Who took his heart and his soul
And lost them both in the process
Please be the saint to save me
So please watch over me
And be the light to carry me
Please be the saint to save me
So please watch over me
And be the light to carry me

After much listening to the acoustic version and the original EP version, I think this song is about art, as a whole, impacting a world yet it being taken for granted.
Lynn puts her own spin on it by saying that the "demons at the door are patiently waiting," as in, the evils of the world and those within herself are driving her to become fake, a false person that is overcome with hopelessness and futility ("composed of broken bones and demon limbs")
"So please watch over me/and be the light to carry me" is a line that could be meant to be religious, but it really cannot be since PVRIS has stated multiple times they are not religious, and they just like the imagery/symbols of religion as a storytelling metaphor. Instead, it is Lynn asking her creativity, to bring purpose and light into her life of hopelessness and negativity.
Finally, the line that convinced me of my interpretation,
"this world is a masterpiece a canvas sheet held accountable for such losses shout-out to the artist who took his heart and his soul and lost them both in the process"
Here is where the art is taken for granted and dismissed. There are so many great things about this world, and so many positive and negative feelings go into them to make them exist. The artist highlights the "small beauties" of the world when it seems, at times, there is only looming evil. They take all of their time and energy to funnel into a piece of art that, in the end, could be an extension of their soul. Yet, when too many people are afraid to stop and admire the nice art and instead focus on the pressing negatives, the artist feels worthless.
TL;DR this song is about Lynn's analysis of art in this world, where it is necessary but taken for granted. It also includes her own feeling about art/expression, in which she needs it to NOT be a false person of only the negative ("demon limbs")
