I feel you in these walls,
You're a cold air creeping in,
Chill me to my bones and skin.
I heard you down the hall,
But it's vacant when I'm looking in,
Who let you in?
You walk around like you own the place,
But you never say anything.
I caught you walking straight through my walls,
Guess it was all my fault.
I think I let you in.
Never thought that I would feel like this,
Such a mess when I'm in your presence.
I've had enough, I think you've been making me sick,
Gotta get you out of my system.
It's my house,
And I think it's time to get out.
It's my soul,
It isn't yours anymore.
It's my house,
And I think it's time to get out.
Yeah, I think it's time to get out.
You're at my bedroom door,
Heard your footsteps on the floor,
Closer than ever before.
And now you're in my room,
You're a cold air creeping through,
Under sheets avoiding you.
You walk around I can hear you pace,
Circling my bed frame.
Now we're face to face,
Head on my pillowcase,
But darling, you can't stay.
Haven't you heard?
I'm not yours anymore.
I'm not yours anymore.
It's my soul, and I think it's time to get out.
Haven't you heard?
I'm not yours anymore.
I'm not yours anymore.
It's my house.

I think this song is about depression, or anxiety, or anything that can haunt a person. For me, it reminds me of my depression/anxiety, and the voices I hear from my abusive mother. Not really voices, but the echoes. I notice Lynn uses ghosts and haunting to compare to stuff like mental health issues. I love that. Especially because it can be interpreted in so many ways. But I know what it means to me, I stated it above, and then it's just about fighting back. I love it.
From my point of view, this song is about someone who has a feeling of being imprisoned. They are trying to get their own personal space because it is their “house,” but they continue to live their life in misery.
It begins with the artist opening up to a problem of hers. She acknowledges that she needs to escape from her problems. The first line states, “I feel you in these walls.” It emphasizes a feeling of fear coming closer, because of this, she receives a sense of shock and cannot see it coming.
In the song, the singer explains that she needs a breath of air. She feels a deep sensation of regret “Guess it was all my fault I think I let you in.” This song could be interpreted into many different meanings. Some people may experience it as a mental illness, drug abuse, heartbreak, etc. Most of us, when we have to make a decision, usually never think it over. Due to this, we begin to realize the mistakes that we have made after a period of time of the decision.
The chorus, “It’s my house and I think it’s time to get out,” gives a message that she is suffering. She uses the word, “house” to represent an idealism of her personal space. Home, for the majority of us, is a place to not be bothered.
Towards the end, the artist repeats the line, “I’m not yours anymore.” It clarifies that she desires self-determination. The line provides an image of her discomfort and the battle between her and her situation. She becomes aware that she cannot continue to be controlled and fights for her freedom.
I feel this song is about any type of disorder. For me, my bipolar disorder. It feels like I'm trapped. I wake up crying sometimes. The song says "never thought that I would feel like this" indicating that sheeeels trapped, and can't escape. It's her space, and feels that it need to be free of all disorders and crap.
