According to Kalmia Traver on their Tinydesk concert the song is about "skinny-dipping your pain away."

@lose311 I forget she said that, thanks for the reminder. I love that Tiny Desk Concert. Best Rubblebucket concert I have found on the web so far, really great performance, and sound mixing that lets you hear her singing.
