Seventeen Lyrics
Oh seventeen
The wasted songs to me
The summer love I'd leave
And turn away
Oh darkest light
You crept into my mind
I've been leaving that town behind
Ever since
Oh seventeen
The bathroom sink beneath
I've been learning how to sing
Ever since
Oh light of love
Holy fire once enough
Bright awake in the morning sun
A fire I knew
A love where I will end
The wasted songs to me
The summer love I'd leave
And turn away
You crept into my mind
I've been leaving that town behind
Ever since
The bathroom sink beneath
I've been learning how to sing
Ever since
Holy fire once enough
Bright awake in the morning sun
A fire I knew

I'm not entirely sure what it means on a line-by-line basis, but in general, it seems to be an expanding of the definition of love and a revelation of a holy light of love that makes other loves seem dim by comparison (the "darkest light" of the summer love left behind). Much deeper than a song called "Seventeen" has any right to be.
