I Found a New Way Lyrics
I found a new way
To open up my mind
I'd love to tell you ‘bout it honey
If you could find the time
I can see the future
I can see the weather change
I can see from here to L.A.
and I know that everywhere’s the same
I found a way
I found a new way
To open up the day
All you gotta do is follow me through
and I know that you'll be okay
I found a new way
To open up my mind
All you gotta do is follow me through
and I know that you'll be fine
I found a way
I found a new way
a new way to see
Just come over here and give me your ear
Let me tell you how good it could be
I can see the future
I can see the weather change
I can see from here to New York City
and I know that every place is the same
I found a way
I can see the dark sky coming
I know it's on its way
To open up my mind
I'd love to tell you ‘bout it honey
If you could find the time
I can see the future
I can see the weather change
I can see from here to L.A.
and I know that everywhere’s the same
I found a way
To open up the day
All you gotta do is follow me through
and I know that you'll be okay
I found a new way
To open up my mind
All you gotta do is follow me through
and I know that you'll be fine
I found a way
a new way to see
Just come over here and give me your ear
Let me tell you how good it could be
I can see the future
I can see the weather change
I can see from here to New York City
and I know that every place is the same
I found a way
I know it's on its way

Colin's songs tend to be more optimistic than Jack's and Cadien's in general .. Plus, the overall success of their first release might have given some brand new opportunities to those young fellows, which explains this song as an enthusiastic opener ! :)
My favorite line from this song is the last one: "I can see the dark sky coming, and I know it's only the rain."
It's about the enthusiasm of self-discovery- of finding some new thing that opens up your perspective and makes you excited about life, and the natural feeling of wanting to share that energy with others. And how when this happens, you feel so in control, almost to the point of being able to "see the future" or feeling like everything might as well be the same since there's nothing you can't conquer.
The reason why the last line is my favorite is because it seems to indicate that the narrator has already been through some tough shit and overcome it, so those dark clouds on the horizon look awfully familiar, and he's not afraid of seeing them anymore.
