Every shiny bullet that he could find
Built himself a house with the wooden floors
Put the shiny bullets in a chest of drawers
And trees they fall down on their own
Memories fade like an old slideshow
But the bullets still shine like coins in the snow
The men with a truck well they came around
Took the television and the gun from the war
And almost every bullet from the chest of drawers
Run into the bedroom and the old brown chest
Didn't care much for the VCR
But he cried for the space where the bullets were
And sold all the silver they had found
But they couldn't sell the bullets cause they weren't live rounds
So they dug a big hole put the bullets in the ground
Cause the men are gonna come like they did before
And he’ll hold onto the three or four
Bullets that they left in the chest of drawers
Oh yeah the bullets that they left in the chest of drawers
Anyone hwo can explain this, Is it just a funny story?
I've been trying to figure that out myself, heh. I want to be careful of reading too much into it, but it does seem like it could be a metaphor. All I know for sure is that I love the sound of it :).

Its about a man who has been collecting little bullets all through his life and then one day, some men break into his house and rob him of his stuff (and the bullets) its then about how something that was so worthless to anyone but himself results in the men just throwing the bullets away. The man doesn't want to leave his home anymore because he's scared they'll come round again. Not funny story, very sad story if you listen closely! Hope this helps:)

I believe this is a lesson on holding onto "thinigs" so tightly that we miss out on life trying to protect things that are, ultimately, worthless
