Long White Line Lyrics
I won't be around this old town anymore for a long long time
Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line
Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line
I woke up, my baby was gone, without her I don't need no home
Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line
Gonna hit the road and start looking for the end of that long white line
Went to the bank to get my dough, I don't care where I go
Gonna push that rig 'til I push that girl out of my mind
If somebody wants to know what's become of this so-and-so
Tell 'em I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line
Tell 'em I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line
New York City, Old St. Joe, Albuquerque New Mexico
This old rig is humming and rolling and doing fine
If somebody wants to know what's become of this so-and-so
Tell 'em I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line
Tell 'em I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line
New York City, Old St. Joe, Albuquerque New Mexico
This old rig is humming and rolling, she's doing fine
If somebody wants to know what's become of this so-and-so
Tell 'em I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line
Tell 'em I'm somewhere looking for the end of that long white line
I won't be around this old town anymore for a long long time

Just a good old fashioned Truck Driving song. My Dad was a long haul trucker back in the day, a very addictive way of life. Whenever anyone asked what he was up to he would always respond "Just out here looking for the end of that long while line."
Double meaning to the long white line as taking cocaine - on the one hand it's an innocent trucking song, but it's also the tale of a man coming out of a relationship, wallowing and spending all his money on blow.
[Edit: typo]
I think it's about burning bridges and self discovery as well as an escape from the unbearable pain of the past. It can be whatever you want. I think it's a testament to Sturgill's character that he didn't write a song about carving his name into her leather truck seats.
