Fantastic song and lyrics. Just a lovely little song about a stubborn, unlovable kind of lady. Reminds me of one. :)
The songwriter actually credits author Willy Vlautin novel The Free for the character inspiration, which seems like a pretty good story. The character Pauline is a woman who had a pretty tough life and is shutting down emotionally while having to take care of everybody around her.
