Who cares if it's about someone. It could be about Taylor, Ellie, some chick off the street, or no one in particular but this song if filled with so much meaning. As Ed always does, he pours his heart and soul out into this piece. I believe it's about two lovers in the world today who are having a secret moment. I know he says 'Beth' at the end but no one has heard of anyone close to him named Beth so that leaves a lot of confusion but I think he meant for people to be confused. I mean, the song says 'you've got that kind of look in your eyes as if no one knows anything but us' that's probably how him and this 'Beth' chick feel. I'm just saying I think this song is a sweet love song and he decided to incorporate that name maybe because of a girl he can't get his mind off of or maybe he just thought it was a pretty name.
I think this one is about Ellie Goulding. A lot of people think it's about Taylor I guess? (T.S). But he said he wrote this after the Grammy's. Other celebrities who wore their hair on their necks at the 2013 Grammys include: Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood, Carly Rae Jepsen, Natasha Bedingfield, Kathy Griffin, Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban. Keith Urban wasn't wearing a dress though, so couldn't be him, but it's probably about the rest of them. And Ellie Goulding.

Ellie is rumoured to have slept with Niall from 1D about a week after sleeping with Ed and he is supposedly really angry about that (Most people think that Don't is about that situation). And again it could be about Swiftie, but I just feel that he wrote One about her (he references Everything Has Changed and he says he wants to always stay friends with her) Personally I feel it could be about Demi for similar reasons to why you think Ellie and also they have Taylor as a mutual friend...

First off, Tenerife Sea and Taylor Swift have the same initials.
The first four lines are literally describing Taylor Swift's appearance.
The "lies" that they are surrounded by in the second set of lines are the Sweeran rumors. And Taylor always has a look in her eye that Ed sort of described.
Taylor's eyes are blue, like the Tenerife Sea.
Also the last line in the song is the first line. Who else does that? (Taylor Swift)

He's very romantic isn't he? Beth? Elizabeth Taylor Swift? Ellie Elizabeth Goulding. I like the way he puts his heart into his songs. Does anyone else out there think he will inevitable end up with one of his childhood sweethearts? I don't blame him for trying with A-list or B-list stars but my instinct tells him in two albums more (divide and subtract) he will be ready to go back to the one he really loves.
