The Way We're Wired

This is one of my favorite songs ever written it reflects the one person in our lives that we fell inlove with but couldn't get it right, it's a song about the self reflection we go through when we lose someone we love. How you can be far away and think of the person no matter where you are or what you do.

"I get a little bit better every day It's safe to say most things have changed I see the world just a little bit clearer now But can't deny I still feel strange I used to know a boy who used to think he knew himself That shuffled soul's still re-arranged She smiled and told him that I like you just the way you are It's just the way you are need's change"

This verse talks about the process of learning to deal with change but not feeling strange because everything is very much different now thinking you had everything figured out until you have to find your self again and remebering all the things the person liked about you.

"Things are feeling pretty smooth here in Hollywood I still feel dizzy in these hills New York City's screaming soulless little lullabies The pavement holds prescription pills Please girl sleep assured, tonight you're only worrying I can't imagine how that feels Just smile and hold on to our precious little memories And just know one day that we will… We'll go on and on"

This next verse talks about how you can start to gain comfort in the distance and slowly accept your new way without your significant other, but at night you have a hard time escaping the memories and using pills to help with your depression or insomnia that keeps you from sleeping well, lastly keeping a positive attitude about the situation.

"I get a little bit closer every day I'd like to think you're closer too The worlds not wide enough to find a place to lay my head If I can't lay it next to you You'll blame it on the way we're wired and I'm detached again You always reel me through that truth If I could find a way for you just to believe in me The same way I believe in you"

This next verse talks about how you can be closer to figuring out your self and what you want and how you wonder if that other person feels the same but that person says "we aren't compatible" which is the line "You'll blame it on the way we're wired and I'm detached again" you start to become detached again with your self and belive that it might not meant to be and hope he/she belives in you as much as you believe in them.

"It meant the most from every corner of every coast that I'd seen The eastern seaboard tides were singing me to sleep Let's roll the windows down and keep this thing in drive Because were alive"

These are my favorite lines because i remember taking random drives in the summer with my ex on the highway with the windows down and the music loud and how "alive" we were.
