I believe that it's about a man who found this woman who he enjoys spending time with but he knows it won't last, so he wants it to last as long as possible, and when she finds her "new frame of mind" she'll be prepared when everyone looks to her.
To me this song is about a lover and someone they love that has gone off the rails because of something they’ve done, they’ve become sick mentally so the lover creates a space for them to hide and play away from their actions until they are able to confront what they did. By that time they will be back on the endless path of love and they will have a new frame of mind that will keep them hopefully from reoffending

I have a theory that this song could be about a child who either has a disability or has been through something traumatic. The repetition of we will play makes me think it's about a child.and most of the song's lyrics support my theory I think.
i feel like this gets to me because, im rly trying to stay strong and such, protect myself and also others, but i feel alone, because all of us just became so seperated. the words we want to say remain unspoken, we just live our lives without telling them. idk what the lines of the song means, but this is how i feel when listening to it.
