I think this song is about a girl and a boy who loved each other deeply but never let it out in the open. This line says it all "one drop is all it takes to flood out this lie". It was all good until they started fighting ....."does illusion count for something we hide" ........................."We seemed like a good idea" .....the girl hopes they would\'ve worked things out" .
i think the song is about an affair. The affair was meant to be fun/ nothing serious. It's all pure lust and it's only in a short period of time. However, along the way, they fell in love. As they fell in love, the exsistence of their affair expands. in this song, she is telling how things are getting real and serious as they went deeper. Lots of quandaries appeared to the point that she realized that it is time to stop before someone gets hurt. "What seemed like a good idea has turned into a battlefield" is such a powerful line. The line describes how she views the relationship. How she thought that their relationship was a good idea and how it turned out. Ahhhh such a deep song! :)) well there's my opinion.
This song always reminds me my mother. She was never there when i needed her. She always ran away from her fears and left me alone when taugh times came. It brings tears into my eyes because it seemed like a good idea when life put us together but it turned out to be a battlefield as whe had several fights. I had/have a very difficult and terrible relationship with my mother and this one is always reminding me about the fights we had...
