Director Lyrics
From a stage in your heart
I can tell that you're far from yourself
When you burden your lust for your health
And when you claim it's all a play
And you just don't care
I only stare
I'm a director watching you rehearse
You say it may arise to the fall
From that actor I fight in the dark
Where I'm two twins I can't tell apart
But you remember which is which
When the wrong man wins
You will hate who you are
Till you overthrow who you've been
Well you expect your soul
To send a whole patrol
If you are too fargone
For me to know where to find you
I've wandered out alone
Into your cold unknown
To try to bring you home
You forgot your way
I tried to remind you
I can tell that you're far from yourself
When you burden your lust for your health
And you just don't care
I only stare
I'm a director watching you rehearse
From that actor I fight in the dark
Where I'm two twins I can't tell apart
But you remember which is which
When the wrong man wins
You will hate who you are
Till you overthrow who you've been
To send a whole patrol
If you are too fargone
For me to know where to find you
Into your cold unknown
To try to bring you home
You forgot your way
I tried to remind you

I have a different interpretation. I feel that the song is from the viewpoint of a friend, of a girl who married someone to sustain herself, against her own wishes and desires. We do not know the exact reasons for the marriage, but the song feels like a reunion of the two friends, after a long time, and he tells her that its not like her to "barter your lust for your health" and its too far removed and artificial from her usual self. She asks him for help, 'cause she herself is confused by her own thoughts and actions. "Lend me your eyes to evolve from that actor I fight in the dark, where I'm two twins I can't tell apart!"
In response, he tells her one of the most striking lines of the song "You will hate who you are ’til you overthrow who you've been".
We do not know whether he was in love with her or not, but he mentions that he had tried to save her in spite of the "cold", but she had been too far away for him.
And then Silberman sings the conclusion most beautifully, "So you forgot your way? Well I'm trying to remind you"
Feels like it talks about much the same things as "Palace".
