Today was fine-
I woke up late like I always do.
Made work just in the nick of time-
And thought of you.
And when I returned,
I found you just like I always do.
Waiting for me like you always are.
Since you came along-
My days are ordinary.
We laugh just like yesterday-
And I kiss you like the day before-
And I hold you just like ordinary.
Perhaps when the day is new,
We'll find tomorrow is just ordinary too.
Tomorrow came-
My shadow, it was growing long.
I came home to find you singing songs-
Just the same.
And today it seems-
You're smiling like you always are.
Every day it's the same old thing.
Since you came along-
My days are ordinary.
We laugh just like yesterday-
And I kiss you like the day before-
And I hold you just like ordinary.
Perhaps when the day is new,
We'll find tomorrow is just ordinary too.
I woke up late like I always do.

Rather straight forward lyrics.
I believe it's about growing older with a significant other and being content with the rather repetitious, "ordinary" life that it becomes. No matter how many times you return home and see the same thing, it's perfect. Knowing that you're sacrificing so much to be with someone yet, even though it may be simple, the joy of having that person every day far outweighs the absence.
From Aaron Marsh's Instagram Story (relating to the re release of this track on revolving doors)
"I get more questions about Ordinary than any other song. Is it a happy song or a sad song?"
"I wrote this song for a film about a man who was having a true nightmare of a day. During a moment where his life was crumbling around him, he thought about how amazing an ordinary day would feel. He longed for the things he would normally see as mundane.
"So yes, it's a happy song and a sad song. Hopefully it's a song that makes you appreciate the little moments in life and take nothing for granted"

This song was released after the band's hiatus and return to a more sedentary lifestyle, which leads me to believe that this song is about Aaron's transition to fatherhood.
