The simple meaning of this song is to say that one shouldn't be bothered by the hard things in life, particularly concerning how others treat one. The title, specifically saying "Wasted Time", however, would suggest that one already has, and should stop, and the lesson to learn is that feeling bad for yourself as a matter of what people say to diminish your optimism will waste your time. This song, I think, with the soothing progressive beat, is probably one of the most mesmorising and uplifting songs that I know. Truly Robin's finest work.
