A Test

Some cat by the name of Noah Drake
Was around when things started getting fake
& just like I do, I got all pissed off
It was my day off
Some cold coffee burned me deep inside
When around every day I could tan your hide
With some Xs & Os on a paper plate
Made us both feel great
Heaven sent me as a test
You see my face when you look west
& every night at dinner time

A simple summer ending breeze blows by
& I hear your voice & I want to cry
Over spilled milk dried on a duplex wall
When you say that's all
Yeah we had our day & it went by fast
But these mewling & puking means won't last
Yes we did our best & that's all we could
With our heads of wood
