Keep It Healthy Lyrics
I could not believe what I was seeing
There's no words. Seeing's believing
How could we, when did we forget where we came from.
Touch the stars, feel what we're made of!
I could not believe what you have said,
"With all the experience,"
Was your crowning credit.
You were there, you were there
When I first believed it
I first laughed and I was dreaming.
(Look in these eyes you regret.)
You wanna heal yourself.
(You come from me. Don't forget!)
You didn't want no help.
(You come from me. Don't forget!)
I never made a sound.
(You come from me. Don't mistake me)
For somebody else!
Come on, come on baby, let's get going.
There's no need to wear your clothing.
Just take my hand, take my heart into this moment
To where you understand, and where you believe it.
In my dreams we are awake.
There's no words. Seeing's believing
How could we, when did we forget where we came from.
Touch the stars, feel what we're made of!
"With all the experience,"
Was your crowning credit.
You were there, you were there
When I first believed it
I first laughed and I was dreaming.
You wanna heal yourself.
(You come from me. Don't forget!)
You didn't want no help.
(You come from me. Don't forget!)
I never made a sound.
(You come from me. Don't mistake me)
For somebody else!
There's no need to wear your clothing.
Just take my hand, take my heart into this moment
To where you understand, and where you believe it.

I am pretty unsure about this one, but given how past Warpaint songs about one of the band members' children, I feel pretty inclined to think this one is the next one in that series.
She's seeing herself in her daughter/son, and how the kid wants to do things themselves and already knows everything while really knowing nothing. "I could not believe what you have said, "With all the experience," Was your crowning credit."
The mother/kid thing is very evident in the chorus, like a stern but not angry reminder "you come from me, don't forget"
The only thing that doesn't make sense is the constant alluding to dreaming. That doesn't hold any water with my interpretation and I can't figure out a context for it.

If you are even inclined to analyze or decode this song with your logical brain then you have not understood it/recognized its meaning. We, as humans, have been manipulated en masse to forget where we come from. We are not merely bodies and brains. As children we know this - and then we are induced to forget. We have been manipulated to think that we are merely material and that the wealth/universe is merely material. tragically, we mutually participate in the perpetuation of this illusion/manipulation/tragic, collective amnesia - and we impose it on each other. It becomes hard to remember. This song is recognizable to those who have seen (is believing), who believe, who have loved, and who cannot believe that the wool had been pulled over their eyes now that they see it (is believing). Unfortunately it moves in cycles and one forgets again and one slips and one's believing can wane. If you began interpreting this song via your logical brain, then you have not seen and you do not believe (but you once did. We all did). If you have seen and do believe (and can't believe it!), then it was your heart that moved, not your brain.
I hate to be the one to say "acid"...
but, uhhh... acid.
It's about the wonders of psychedelic drugs, as seen from the perspective of a first-time user.
"How could we, when did we forget where we came from"
All of those thoughts that come into your mind when the metaphorical third eye is opened... how far we've drifted away from our natural state of being, and how amazing it is to feel yourself return to that state, even if just for one moment...
"You were there, you were there When I first believed it"
You'll never forget your first time... who were there to experience this life-changing adventure with you.
The title "Keep It Healthy" probably refers to the possible dangers... watch out what you're doing, when and how much you're doing. Just keep it healthy.
