This is about letting a significant other go. It is a bittersweet goodbye:

She wishes the relationship didn't have to end this way, but at the same time, she knows she needs to move on from him because of something he has done. He is portrayed as the enemy.
I enjoy this song because this is exactly what I've been going through as of recently. These thoughts of loving somebody, but at the same time considering them an "enemy" for breaking your heart and trust. All you can do is say goodbye, and try to see the brighter side of things:
