Everyday Robots Lyrics

[Lord Buckley Sample]
“They didn’t know where they was going, but they knew where they was wasn’t it”

We are everyday robots on our phones
In the process of getting home
Looking like standing stones
Out there on our own

We’re everyday robots in control
Or in the process of being sold
Driving in adjacent cars
‘Til you press restart

[Lord Buckley Sample]
“They didn’t know where they was going, but they knew where they was wasn’t it”

Everyday robots just touch thumbs
Swimmin’ in lingo they become
Stricken in a status sea
One more vacancy
For everyday robots getting old

When our lips are cold
Lookin’ like standing stones
Out there on our own

Little robots in ringback tones
In the process of getting home

Cover art for Everyday Robots lyrics by Damon Albarn

Just heard this for the first time and it sounds great - certainly evokes the imagery of sitting on the tube, stopping and starting, between work and home - everyone on their phones doing something/nothing and not really wanting to be there.

What a great song. Damon is so poetic explaining how society has evolved into "Everyday Robots". Drifting through time so lifeless and so immersed in technology. Its really kind of sad the direction we are heading. Technology is so amazing and useful but at the same time some people allow it to completely control their lives. I guess as humans we will always be evolving for better or worse. Just my opinion but I just don't like the way its been going.

My Interpretation

I love this full albums and I think a lot of the songs is about conforming and being empty. Specifically, this song is about this conformation of technology with everyday people and know one knowing how to live life anymore or know how others feel. LOOOVE THIS ALBUM IT TALKS MOR THEN STUPID RELATIONSHIP STUFF.
