Panicked Leaps Lyrics
There is an old sewing machine in the closet
It once was useful, but now it just collects dust
We take it down to fix a hem once in a while
You couldn't bring yourself to throw it away
Well I think that's me
Metaphorically at least
Just hoping to be cleaned
And handed down
There is a place I only see through empty vessels
They once were up to the brim with where I'd been
One-by-one I watched them draining from the corner
I never brought myself to say it out loud
But that's what I was
Every glass I fell out of
Just reaching for another one
But it's never enough
I could've leapt through the window...
It once was useful, but now it just collects dust
We take it down to fix a hem once in a while
You couldn't bring yourself to throw it away
Metaphorically at least
Just hoping to be cleaned
And handed down
They once were up to the brim with where I'd been
One-by-one I watched them draining from the corner
I never brought myself to say it out loud
Every glass I fell out of
Just reaching for another one
But it's never enough
