Taste of Metal Lyrics
I've become so light
no sense of time
and if i stop
will my blood flow
the air falls wet
this latest morning
confuse me sun
and i won't mind expecting what
the taste of metal brings
find solace in
the longer waves
just wait
fight stillness
brings me too close
heavy with ache
heavy with time and sleep
and the last dose
the air falls wet this latest morning
confuse me sun
and i won't mind expecting what
the taste of metal brings
find solace in the longer waves
just wait
no sense of time
and if i stop
will my blood flow
the air falls wet
this latest morning
confuse me sun
and i won't mind expecting what
the taste of metal brings
the longer waves
just wait
brings me too close
heavy with ache
heavy with time and sleep
and the last dose
confuse me sun
and i won't mind expecting what
the taste of metal brings
just wait

As trite as it sounds, this song makes a very good metaphor for heroine use, or perhaps being confined to a hospital bed on a rainy morning, waiting for the next shot of some relaxant.
"Confuse me sun, and I won't mind expecting what the taste of metal brings" can refer to someone who wishes to be distracted from worrying over what to expect from the injection.
I like to imagine the "Longer Waves" as a heart rate monitor. When one is calm or sedated, the monitor shows languid, long waves. "Just wait..." sounds like one is waiting to feel the slow down of a depressant or opiate.
"Fight stillness, brings me too close, heavy with ache, heavy with time and sleep and the last dose" sounds like one is languid and 'heavy' from the last dose of a drug. One can be scared that their sedation is creeping too close to death, or stillness.
