Taken Down

I don't want to be taken down
Like the rest of them coming up dry
Leaving so little to root for the but we all can see enough of this besides
You're a little frayed, we're a little tried
A hole in the fence, dive
Try another plan, giving up the time
There's no sense in it when we hide
I want to make sure I've tidied up
And lock the doors, pull the shades down tight
We may not be back for ages
and an age is something I don't understand
If this little week was a long year

Totally agree, everything as was
But I know we got more to go
Won't you leave now, soon enough
Not fast enough for me
We cannot take it so easy
As others will see it
Alright, I don't want to push back the invite
Often I find myself biting my tongue making sure that we all feeling fine
Things may not be so easy for some
I don't want it to feel so contrived
Giving up the day, using up our time
We're watching our own decline
Passing up a chance, pulling out a smile
I see through it all by a mile
I don't want to be taken down like you've been trying to do all this time
Making me wander around without plans
I don't want to keep being so blind
