That's a good interpretation. I think Brandon Flowers wouldn't even find it that difficult to resist to temptation because of the foundation he's standing on. I don't think it's fair though to give an image to most famous people for being with different girls "quite regularly". We don't know that for sure. I'm sure it happens that they are tempted and go off with a woman, but let's not push it... There are many girls who throw themselves at famous people, and it must be quite flattering especially if they're feeling low inside. What Brandon Flowers means in his interview is that it shouldn't be that way because you're a rock star. You don't have to give in to temptations. Beauty is shallow, love is deep.

Sorry to say, this analysis doesn't really match with what the lyrics actually say. True Brandon is a securely married man, but this characters in this song are freshly split ( 'it wasn't meant to be' etc.). <br /> <br /> I've been puzzling the 'put down the gloves' line for a while -it clearly refers to boxing gloves i.e the ending of hostilities. At first I thought that the two men had been in conflict with each other, but the fight has actually been between the man and the woman, so putting down the gloves means that they have finally given up on the conflict-ridden relationship and separated.<br /> <br /> This implies that the break up was a traumatic one, and recent enough that Little Brother hasn't even heard about it yet. That adds a rawness to the emotion of the man for whom there is no substitute for this one woman. Plus the singer is now dealing with the loss of a friendship along with his inabillity to 'move on' from the girl, AND alienation from his remaining friends who can't or won't see it from his point of view.<br /> <br /> Considering how God-awful the lyrics to some of my favourite Killers songs are, this is right up there as a break-up song.

I agree with shineyoudiamond, the interpretation offered is pretty but it hardly fits with the lyrics.<br /> I think it's pretty obvious that he's not talking about his wife, just listen,' I can't believe you're out there flying with somebody else'. Unless she's cheating or divorcing him, she could hardly be with somebody else, could she?<br /> I think your interpretation just wants a happy story and you try to make Brandon seem all saintly and perfect.<br /> It's sad because it feels like in your attempts to glorify him, you've ignored almost every word he's sung in this song . <br /> Its like people just hear what they wanna hear and nothing else.
