Playmate Lyrics
Playmate, come out and play with me
And bring your dollies, three
Climb up my apple tree
Look down my rain-barrel
Slide down my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends forever more
Playmate, I cannot play with you
My dolly's got the flu
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo
Ain't got no rain-barrel
Ain't got no cellar door
But we'll be jolly friends forever more
And bring your dollies, three
Climb up my apple tree
Look down my rain-barrel
Slide down my cellar door
And we'll be jolly friends forever more
My dolly's got the flu
Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo
Ain't got no rain-barrel
Ain't got no cellar door
But we'll be jolly friends forever more

Playmate, My mother sang this to me when I was a child. She sang it as a child growing up in the Great Depression of the 1930's. Now she is 92 years old and languishing in an elder care home deep in the throes of dementia. I remembered it and started to sing it to her, her eyes brightened and she sang along. Thank you for this service.
