12 Through 15 Lyrics

Hey, the walls keep crumbling down but I’ll stand brave
Love is just an empty word you say
I found loyalty and it was pain
And you hate, that God keeps coming down 'cause you’re afraid
Lucifer just might be your middle name
You’re the only angel that got away

And we’re all alone now
With nothing to stand in our way
Don’t swear that it’s over
If love is our secret
I know you won’t keep it

We’re taking this easy
'Cause darling, that’s what dreams are made of
This story is probably made up
So why don’t you go back to sleep?

Hey, the walls keep tumbling down but I'll stand brave
Maybe I’m the one whose in your way
I’m the only reason love got away (love got away)

And we’re all alone now (Yeah, I'll be alright)
With nothing to stand in our way (Hell, I'll be just fine)
Don’t swear that it’s over, if love is our secret (With you by my side)
I know you won’t keep it (Don't keep me guessing)

We’re taking this easy
'Cause darling that’s what dreams are made of
This story is probably made up
So why don’t you go back to sleep? (Just like we never could)

Why don’t you dream about me? (Just like always should)
Cause I’m the reason you’re alone now
Quit blaming everything on your hometown
Why would you say that?

Oh, oh, oh I think you’re better off when you’re on your own
You said to keep me close
Cause I’m the closest thing that you’ve ever known
You said the problem’s in your heart
But the problem’s who you are
So leave me alone now
I’d rather be lonely when I scream and shout and let it out

We’re taking this easy
'Cause darling that’s what dreams are made of
This story is probably made up
So why don’t you go back to sleep? (Just like we never could)
Why don’t you dream about me? (Just like we always should)
Cause I’m the reason you’re all alone now
Quit blaming everything on your hometown
Why would you say that?

It's a song about losing your faith in something. As denoted by the reading of Isaiah 14: Lines 12-15, hence the name, and the line reads: "How you have fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, so of immortal. How you were cut down to the ground. You, who weakened the nations. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like the Most Highest. And you. You'll be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit" They use the comparison of Lucifer falling from heaven and following God's word to losing faith in love and being apprehensive when it comes to relationships, but acting as if you're okay "the walls keep tumbling down, but I'll stand brave".

My Interpretation

Okay, so I found the actual quote without having to listen to the beginning of the song over "How you have fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground. You, who weakened the nations... ...'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. I will be like the Most Highest.' Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit."

I agree with xxelimin8erxx, this does sound like a tragic relationship falling apart. He believes that it's his fault though, "Maybe I’m the one whose in your way I’m the only reason love got away".

Favorite song off the new album though!

Very Amazing. I'd like to see whoever the writer is do an interview on these songs.

@luckymag yeah and i like it as "My walls keep crumbling down..." not "the walls keep crumbling down.."

They keep hitting really awesome spots in their songs...
