The band had been overseas for some time. We went back home briefly at one point and I remember feeling like I’d gained confidence from all of our experiences on the road, yet I was wary of everyone. ‘We Are Leaving’ isn’t a vindictive song by any means. It’s about being on the receiving end of condescension. – Thom
