my eyes are clearer now
so much more than before I took my turn
you'll never tell them
where you're going or how to get there
let them fear what they don't understand
... I see the changing of hands
chorus:
whatever makes you whole again
whatever brings you home
I never wanted this, I never wanted this
(x2)
I fear I'm getting older
I know my veins are dirtier now
I watch my youth fly right by
like I couldn't stand to have it any other way
(... can see the changing of hands)
(chorus)
(whatever makes you whole again... whatever brings you home)
I never said I'd do this on my own
whatever makes you whole again
whatever brings you home
I never wanted this, I never wanted this
I'm the only one still standing here
so much more than before I took my turn
you'll never tell them
where you're going or how to get there
let them fear what they don't understand
... I see the changing of hands
whatever makes you whole again
whatever brings you home
I never wanted this, I never wanted this
(x2)
I know my veins are dirtier now
I watch my youth fly right by
like I couldn't stand to have it any other way
(... can see the changing of hands)
I never said I'd do this on my own
whatever brings you home
I never wanted this, I never wanted this

I believe that this song is about Spencer's feelings of being the only one left after the band split up do to wife's and kids. " I'm the only one still standing here" could be the example. "I watch my youth fly right by like I couldn't stand to have it any other way" Is talking about how he was in Underoath for so long that people just expect that he loved it; well that may be true but he also could be saying that he missed out on a lot of stuff as well. What do you guys think?
