Q&A
In The Aisle Lyrics
He waves to the locals, while he walks around.
Draggin' a cricket bat in the ground.
Sucker for slackers, glory and rage.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
He yells gibberish to pick a good fight.
Breaks his head into a wall every night.
Free up the country for glory and rage.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
Waiting for drug fucks to carry him home.
Sunk to the carpet, it's eating him whole.
Nihilist pop shit won't leave him alone.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
I wish you would only exist in my mind.
Away from the world and the feelings inside.
Great pretender that leaves you behind.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
(Why does everything you say sound...)
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
(Why does everything you say sound...)
Draggin' a cricket bat in the ground.
Sucker for slackers, glory and rage.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
Breaks his head into a wall every night.
Free up the country for glory and rage.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
Sunk to the carpet, it's eating him whole.
Nihilist pop shit won't leave him alone.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
Away from the world and the feelings inside.
Great pretender that leaves you behind.
Waiting for god. Waiting for god.
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
(Why does everything you say sound...)
Why does everything you say sound hollow?
(Why does everything you say sound...)

Officially from the band:
There is this guy that walks into my friends bar (Southside – a rad bar in Brisbane) everyday with a kanga cricket bat and demands that they makes tea with black and gold tea bags. I just found this character fascinating. In a few songs I try and focus on outsider suburban characters that are usually hidden and outcast by society, reenacting tapping into their reality and what they view as normal. More interestingly, it asks a question about our reality and insecurities. It’s kinda like a big “fuck you” to everyone else for living normally and putting these people on a steeple for living outside any preconceived notion of how we should act/feel. It’s like they live out our alter-egos for us, while we hide behind a sheet of normality.

sounds like a reference to Trainspotting
