Moving On Lyrics
A boy of anguish now, he's a man of soul,
Traded in his misery for the lonely life of the road.
The years were cruel to him no,
He will let them go.
Lays awake tryna' find the man inside to pack his bags and escape this world.
I've never been so torn up in all of my life,
I should of seen this coming.
I've never felt so hopeless,
Than I do tonight.
I don't wanna do this anymore, I'm moving on.
He wanted to change the world, to make it all worthwhile.
So he put his pen to paper and poured out everything inside.
He's read the scene and unpacked the man that he had became.
So leave him trailing on the fasttrack to falling into his grave.
I've never been so torn up in all of my life,
I should of seen this coming.
I've never felt so hopeless,
Than I do tonight.
I don't wanna do this anymore, I'm moving on.
I can't believe I've come so far in such a time,
And I'm still fighting on my own.
I fucked up to catch my breath I may never breathe again, so just notice:
I've never been so torn up in all of my life, I can't believe I let myself breakdown.
I've never been so torn up in all of my life,
I should of seen this coming.
I've never felt so hopeless,
Than I do tonight.
I don't wanna do this anymore...
I've never been so torn up in all of my life,
I should of seen this coming.
I've never felt so hopeless,
Than I do tonight.
No I don't wanna do this anymore, I'm moving on.

I believe Danny wrote this with so much emotion. I feel like its about him not wanting to play metal music anymore. Like he wanted to move on but he felt bad for leaving his band mates behind. He didnt know what to do and he felt hopeless, like he had no way out. He was stuck in this pain of not wanting to do metal music as his career but he felt bad leaving his band mates behind. He didnt know what to do. He just wanted to pack up and leave to get away from this terrible decision he had to make. He moved on. The old danny liked metal music and he loved his career, until he changed. So i think this was Danny saying goodbye to the band members and his fans of AA. This was his heartfelt goodbye to the band.
It describes a situation, where he went through something really bad, probably a personal tragedy. He has to find another route, something different, because he lost his hope and interest in that thing, which meant so much to him. It might be an end of a stablle, long relationship. But at the same time, he becomes stronger, more independent because he decides to go on alone, leaving behind everything, in favour of seeking some kind of salvation
@andris1000 That's a very good interpretation. I love this song! I've seen Danny perform it live with his six~stringed baby!

I think this is when danny reached rock bottom due to his alcohol n drug abuse. I wouldn't b surprised if he wrote this when on tour reflecting on his life. Its almost like hes mourning a lost friend which is his past self. My favourite track of 2014.
I always wondered about this, and thought Danny had lost a friend to suicide. Then I read the other comments and realized it's definitely a look in the mirror from rock bottom. It really speaks to me to be honest. Dannys got a powerful voice and this song just bleeds with emotion. One of my all time favorite songs. Honestly glad to see Danny singing clean lyrics consistently with Harlot.
