Stranger Than Love Lyrics
Somewhere...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
Somewhere...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
Stranger...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
Somewhere...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
Over the borderline
They say that somewhere
There is a place for us
Take me that somewhere
Over the borderline
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
They say that somewhere...
Yes we'll run
Like the hunted deer
To that somewhere
Where there is a place for us
To that somewhere
Over the borderline...
We'll reach that somewhere...
Time is within you...
Shines through your eyes
Time is within you...
It shines through your eyes.
We'll kill the world's black letter lies
We'll find that somewhere...
Where there is a place for us
Somewhere
Over that borderline...
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
There is a place for us
Somewhere...
Over the borderline
There is a place for us
Take me that somewhere
Over the borderline
So much stranger than love
This is stranger...
So much stranger than love
Like the hunted deer
To that somewhere
Where there is a place for us
Over the borderline...
Shines through your eyes
Time is within you...
It shines through your eyes.
Where there is a place for us
Somewhere
Over that borderline...
So much stranger than love

This is one of those songs that is so much more than the lyrics written out would suggest. You can say that about a lot of songs, but here Mark's vocals and the use of Erik Satie quotes really bring out the yearning in this song, which is obviously about star-crossed lovers with no place to safely be together. I see it as something of a continuation of the Pop Group's Savage Sea, which is about the same subject.
