There's No Going Back Lyrics
I had a plan and it made God laugh
It didn't work, should've checked the math
I hit the wall 'cause I live too fast
I didn't know it could hurt that bad
I clung to hope when there was none
I should've known that was so dumb
(Woah oh oh oh)
(Woah oh oh oh)
I was a dick when I was seventeen,
I thought the world owed me everything
But who am I knew I'll never be
Is all the shit that happens in between
(Woah oh oh oh)
(Woah oh oh oh)
There's no going back,
When life's a loaded gun, you pull the trigger, trigger
There's no going back
The past is in the past
Thank God it doesn't last forever
There's no going back
Fuck that going back
There's no going back
Fuck that going back
Yesterday was another life
Turning left didn't turn out right
Stuck in hell when I was twenty-five
You can't regret what you don't decide
I should have stayed, should have let go
Should've, could've means you'll never know
(Woah oh oh oh)
(Woah oh oh oh)
There's no going back
When life's a loaded gun, you pull the trigger, trigger
There's no going back
The past is in the past
Thank God it doesn't last forever
There's no going back
Fuck that going back
There's no going back
Fuck that going back
The future I'm living now
Is not what I'd thought it'd be
The person I was before
Is nothing like me
The future I'm living now
Is the way that I want it to be
The minute I walk through the door
I slam it behind me
There's no going back
When life's a loaded gun, you pull the trigger, trigger
There's no going back
The past is in the past
Thank God it doesn't last forever
There's no going back

I can't believe there are no comments on this one. To me this seems like a very positive song about moving forward. The past is the past, you can't change it, luckily you have the future in your control.
Also their bassist is absolutely gorgeous!
This song is most likely about how you cannot change the past, so why should you worry over what has happened and whats been done? I also think its about change and how many of us have maybe made mistakes or bad things in the past, theres no point in going back and wishing to go back. Its a song of change and growing up? I also hope theres a religious aspect to the song. I can def see that, the white suits, the mention of God, the band flying up towards the sky on umbrellas. Its probably my favorite song by Sick Puppies now.
I feel like this song is representing Shep's (Lead Vocals) past. Not saying he had a bad past, but I feel like this song is about rising above and moving on with life, forgetting the past and moving on. I also think that there is a little bit of suicidal thought in the song. If you've seen the music video, you know that there are ghostly forms of Shep, Emma, and Mark, as if their spirit were coming down from heaven with an umbrella. There is also a part in the music video where Shep is jumping into a pond or a lake as if he was trying to drown himself. So, my thoughts are that Shep is trying to forget the past by killing himself and he realizes that the past is done and he moves forward with life.
Lyrics are wrong.....
there's no going back, FORGET going back!
Come on listen to the song people, it's not hard to realize he's not swearing, no matter how much you may want him too.
