Wave Forms Lyrics

I won't ride another wave
and I won't write another word after today
no wave forms out here
adrift amidst an endless sea
and there's nothing to return to
you'll find me floating endlessly

In the golden hour
holding on to burning embers
there's no sound
it's over now can
return to sender
the water's calm and I am moving on

I kick back I get made
I don't need anyone to kick anything
my way
I have taken what I'm afforded
I view the rest as unimportant

In the golden hour
holding on to burning embers
there's no sound
it's over now can
return to sender

In the golden hour
holding on to burning embers
there's no sound
it's over now can
return to sender
the water's calm and I am moving on
moving on
moving on
moving on

Cover art for Wave Forms lyrics by Islands

At the beginning, Nick (the singer) recognizes that he is lost in a relationship with someone. He uses the metaphor of floating in an empty sea and having nothing to hold on to to relate to the feeling this person gives him.

The rest of the song is Nick having a positive attitude in removing this toxic person from his life. The song's hopeful sound gives off the vibe that things will be okay and that he really will move on.

I love this song! Ski Mask is simply amazing.
