A: Hi, Bob.
B: Hi there!
A: How are you?
B: I'm fine! Thank you.
A: What are you gonna do today?
B: I'm gonna be mean to everyone!
A: Oh! But not to me! I'm your friend!
B: No, you're wrong! I don't have any friends!
A: Well, then I've gotta leave.
B: Wait! Come back here! I'm gonna put your eye out!
A: No, please! Not my eye!
B: Come here! I'm gonna knee you in the groin!
A: Oh, no! That might hurt!
B: I know it would. I'm a MEEEAAAAAAAN person!
B: I don't like you! Fuckin' little shit!

This song affected me very deeply and has had a very, very profound effect on my life. My interpretation of this song is that although Bob appears to have a lot of anger, he is really a very kind person and just wants to help his friend through a tough time. When his friend tries to leave , Bob demands “Come back here!” , he is only trying to keep his friend from making a bad decision and keep him out of harm’s way. When he offers to put his eye out, O think what Bob really means is to help his friend focus more on his happiness than external issues that he had little control over. Finally, when he offers to knee him in the groin, he wants to save his friend from the pain of the world by taking his mind off it. When he says “ I don’t like you, fucking little shit!” What he really means is that” I love you and I’m always here for you.”
@Bongoplayer Verily, I disagree with this thoughtless analysis. Clearly, you have no grasp on the higher meanings of such great prose. This song is a metaphor for class struggle. Bob represents the proletariat being pushed to its breaking point by the heartless bourgeoisie. Their false niceties bring to mind false promises such as "trickle down economics". Bob finally hits his breaking point and threatens to put out the eye of the ruling elites.
