Drifting In Color

Staring at the sun he burned his eyes
He was lost in the woods when he realized
That the bird in the trees singing bible hymns
Was an angel watching over them
For a moment he was home
For his brothers put their tools down and marched on
She awoke in a field with a broken heart
With a soul doesn't matter if it's torn apart
And it's floating round her head
Of a time when the world wasn't suffering
She was feeling quite the fool
In a mud covered dress in the center of a fire show

As the summer faded into fall
He was taken out by a wrecking ball
Set loose upon your life
Knocked the walls down and stole his life

And lost along the way
Men who brushed their bones aside
She was crawling on her hands and knees
Felt the stinging burn of a winter breeze
So she cried out his name
