^^ It isn't. It's a straight forward simple breakup song. Quite descriptive and well use of adjectives to convey the emotional dichotomy of her love. Very beautifully written in the true romantic sense. Definitely no negative connotations with lyrics.
I think it's a song about date rape. It sounds like she may have dissociated the abuse from this person she loved.
