When A Fire Starts to Burn Lyrics

When a fire starts to burn, right, and it starts to spread
She gon’ bring that attitude home
Who don't wanna do nothin' with they life

When a fire starts to burn, right, and it starts to spread
She gon’ bring that attitude home
Who don't wanna do nothin' with they life

When a fire starts to burn, right, and it starts to spread
She gon’ bring that attitude home
Who don't wanna do nothin' with they life

When a fire starts to burn, right, and it starts to spread

Has anyway thought of it as a metaphors for feminism? when i hear "she gon’ bring that attitude home", for me it means something as a powerfull woman comming back home and bringing new rules with her. nowadays, the inside of the house isn't a place for the man to stand; the church, a public, traditional misogenous space, is the new place to stand for past moral values.

what i can't figure out is this verse: "Don’t wanna do nothing, what they like"

who doesn't want to do nothing? the kids? idk

Lyrics Missing Key Elements From Oficial Video,

"How do you feel your momentum, and how do you get into your zone? right? and I'm glad you asked there's 3 things and you better catch it. my momma used to tell me that people lovvve to watch the fire burn if there's one thing that I know about life, ONE THING THAT I KNOW ABOUT LIFE! its a guarantee, change is inevitable. as much as you want to be in your comfort zone as much as you would like to be stable as much as you would like to have a comfortable environment the realization is everything changes, here my last one MY LAST ONE! Karl you gotta give me that term again spontaneous combustion right!? AND WHAT HAPPENS IS"

(also mid-song)

"The spirit is alive in the building, we are saving lives, call the 1800 number, we see you sinner, you need to be saved we're here saving people, COME ON DOWN NOW THE FIRE STARTS TO BURN"

so talking the lyrics of the video into consideration. when he says "MY LAST ONE" he is referring to his ex-pathner. Summing her up in 2 words "spontaneous combustion"

saying how she brings drama/chaos home(because the fire is drama and when its spreads she brings it home because of attitude), and how it's her way or no way(because she never whats to do what they like, her family is they, and she always says no to them)

My Interpretation

I think this is about people on welfare who can work but don't want to. "Who don't wanna do nothing with they life"
