Justice done
People in fashion
Rattle don't hesitate
A look of my own
Your chances are slim
Victory lap
Formal with feathery eyes
Dating vendetta win small
Spray pesticide
Justice done
Caledonian rich and young
Self-entitled portrait
Court in session, justice done
We'll rush into it anyway
Forever is for everyone else
We're off a couple secrets
Another lonely Tuesday home
Stolen kisses, is anyone near?
Rattle don't hesitate
A look of my own
Your chances are slim
Victory lap
Formal with feathery eyes
Dating vendetta win small
Spray pesticide
Self-entitled portrait
Court in session, justice done
We'll rush into it anyway
Forever is for everyone else
We're off a couple secrets
Another lonely Tuesday home
Stolen kisses, is anyone near?

Brilliant song. Vocals don't begin til 4:38 into the song.
But the lyrics themselves are all over the place.. the ending stays with you for a bit. "Forever is for everyone else" and "Caledonian rich and young, self-entitled portrait" make me feel like he's making a comment on our narcissistic generation. Not necessarily being critical of it.. just an observation almost.
Anyone else? Any thoughts?
Yeah I agree with Tassadank that the theme of this song is observing the narcissistic ~millennial~ generation, which I think is a theme on this album hence it also being called Bankrupt! and having a song called Bourgeois which talks about this bougie generation as well as the middle class. I think with this song in particular, Thomas Mars is passing a negative judgement on the narcissism of people; shallow and selfie-taking et cetera et cetera, and I feel that even the title "Bankrupt!" is a bit of a piss take and a nod to his disapproval of bougie people who WANT to be considered "fashion" and "rich and young" etc.
And I agree that the ending really stays with you; kinda haunting and hopeless/lonely sounding.
