Lose Yourself to Dance (feat. Pharrell Williams) Lyrics
I know you don't get a chance to take a break this often
I know your life is speeding and it isn't stopping
Here take my shirt and just go ahead and wipe up all the
Sweat, sweat, sweat
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
I know you don't get a chance to take a break this often
I know your life is speeding and it isn't stopping
Here take my shirt and just go ahead and wipe up all the
Sweat, sweat, sweat
[Repeating:]
Lose yourself to dance (come on)
Lose yourself to dance (at all)
Everybody dancing on the floor
Getting you ready for some more
Everybody on the floor
Yeah, come on
I know you don't get a chance to take a break this often
I know your life is speeding and it isn't stopping
Here take my shirt and just go ahead and wipe up all the
Sweat, sweat, sweat
Lose yourself to dance (come on)
Lose yourself to dance (at all)
Everybody dancing on the floor
Getting you ready for some more
Everybody on the floor
Yeah, come on
I know your life is speeding and it isn't stopping
Here take my shirt and just go ahead and wipe up all the
Sweat, sweat, sweat
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance
Lose yourself to dance

Here take my shirt and just go ahead and wipe up all the
Sweat, sweat, sweat

This is a break beat from the emotions stirred up from the past two tracks; It culminates in the beginning. It feels like a song that you'd hear at a high school dance in the 70's. You're afraid of how you may look to others and it doesn't seem cool to just get it out of your system. None the less get the fear of sharing your happy self with your contemporaries!
By the time the Robots chime in though, it's nearly impossible to not "Lose Yourself" and well... dance. By the end of the song I felt like my problems left me! even if for a few short minutes. Like synchronized dancing where everyone at least showed they were competent of emotion let alone losing themselves in celebration of the event!
@mauricech Maybe the late 70s when disco signaled the end of musicianship in pop music. Very few pieces of music so mind-numbingly repetitive and mindless, without even a hint of purpose or message outside of cynical commercialism would have been heard in that era

I love mauricech's take on this tune. I'm jamming this right now and had to unplug my headphones - the neighbors need to get in on this.
"the neighbors need to get in on this."
"the neighbors need to get in on this."

Ok so there's 2 important fact about the song :
The song is for a girl (so it's better if sang by a man), because of thie line : "You take my shirt and just go ahead and wipe up all the Sweat". I don't see a man giving his shirt to another man (unless gay) or a girl giving her shirt, that's not usually what people do. If sang by a girl I guess lyrics would be something like "You take my hand and just go ahead and [...insert brilliant idea here...]"
It's for a girl that works a lot and don't party much. Maybe the singer is in love with her, or maybe it's just a very close friend to him. Anyway he likes her very much and wan't her to be happy.
