every night i hear the sounds
of people i don't like
yelling about things that i don't care about
and even though it's monday night
they got a few in them
but i guess what else can you do
when you go to school in rural Wisconsin
when i moved from Chicago
i thought it was a good idea to get away for a while
but now i know there's no people like the people i know there
and i check my mail every afternoon
to see if i heard from you

and staying up late not for the coffee but for the people who
