Dog Teeth Lyrics

He handed me a pair of pliers
and he told me to pull out his teeth,
because as long as he had them he'd
use them to do bad things.

You're cold on the inside,
there's a dog in your heart
and it tells you to tear everything apart.

My body's covered in teeth marks.
Your bite's worse than your bark.
You ruin everything you touch and
destroy anyone you love.
You're all over me.

He'd sunk his teeth in to the flesh of many others,
infecting them with whatever was
already inside him.
He'd broken all their hymens,
cut them open and played inside them.

He'd hollowed out their bodies so
they'd feel just empty as him.
You're cold on the inside,
there's a dog in your heart
and it tells you to tear
everything apart.

You draw blood just to taste it.
You hold bones just to break them.
You ruin everything you touch and
destroy anyone you love.

You're all over me.

My Opinion

What really has me thinking

Is the abuser asking for help or is he daring her to do something about the situation?

Overall, I know the song is about abuse from POV of the victim and she's aware that she's not the only one but the opening lyrics really get me.

Some say this song is about rape... but I don't see it, can someone help me out?

@Crystalision I would say it's about rape because Nicole talks about feeling scared and how her body is covered in teeth marks, which thinking about figurative language probably means her body has somehow been violated. Also, one line says "He'd broken all their hymens" And if you don't know what that means, look it up, but saying he'd broken all their hymens means he's raped multiple people. "Cut them open and played inside them" Well... I sort of guessed that was talking about the act of when he actually raped the people.

@Crystalision A figurative meaning for dog is cold(unforgiving), and is commonly used for abuse, and a bein is something you should look up on your own time, that should make it more understandable

@Crystalision

I took it as hyperbole about the ways we damage the ones we love the most.
