Old Boy Lyrics
What up what up, old boy?
It took awhile to find you, to track you down
By the river with them cold boys
I heard you made a million
It doesn't matter what I do or say
I never ever seem to get his attention
He lives a hundred-thousand miles away
I can't decide if he's a middle religion
I can't be the best
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
I can't be the best
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
Still I hold on to
What up what up, old boy?
It took awhile to find you, to track you down
By the river with them cold boys
I heard you made a million
Hi
I am your son
You are to blame
Goodbye
I can't be the best
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
I can't be the best
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
And still I hold on to
I can't be the best
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
Something more
What up what up, old boy?
It took awhile to find you, to track you down
By the river with them cold boys
It tool awhile to find you
It took awhile to find you, to track you down
By the river with them cold boys
I heard you made a million
I never ever seem to get his attention
He lives a hundred-thousand miles away
I can't decide if he's a middle religion
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
It took awhile to find you, to track you down
By the river with them cold boys
I heard you made a million
I am your son
You are to blame
Goodbye
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
Still I hold on to
Won't be the best
Still I hold on to
It took awhile to find you, to track you down
By the river with them cold boys
It tool awhile to find you

I was bored and this song makes me smile so..... The slightly creepy video shows a creature trying to find a person of importance to him and he still looks for that person even though they're so many dangers in the way. In the end he murders the person found in a Santa Claus disguise.
Put in relation to the lyrics, the "old boy" could be the adult version of the singer being talked to by the child version. He says "You are to blame" He means that the adult has ruined a certain dream he had as a child and isn't doing anything to try achieve it. "Goodbye" (letting go of the childish life)
But then maybe he didn't totally give up on his dream as a child. "I can't be the best, still I hold onto something more" the chorus lyrics could be another speaker, perhaps the adult version speaking about how he cant be the best but he still wants to achieve his childhood dreams. even though they're "cold boys" (People who tell him to just give it up so often that he eventually gives up and flows in the river) the river could be him in school, college, university, not knowing what to do with his life, getting a job that he has no interest in but still earns him "a million" and the "cold boys" he's with ensure he doesn't try to aim towards his dream since childhood. Back to the video, the creature could be the child dream trying to get the adult's state of mind and murder it (the creature with the beard) so that he may continue the childream.
According to Brandon Masraf live, this song is a letter to his father who is banned from the US due to his involvement in diamond smuggling. I assume this song is basically about the desire to go to his father and meet him again (even though he's a hundred thousand miles away) and make him proud but this song emulates his frustration at his father and the entire situation. It's basically a lot of mixed feelings of love and blame.
