Fallen Kingdom Lyrics

I used to rule the world
Chunks would load when I gave the word
Now every night I go stow away
Hide from the mobs I used to slay

They once were terrified
Every time I looked into their eyes
Villagers would cheer my way
For a hero I was, that's what they'd say

One minute we had it all
Next our world began to fall
Away from all that it had once become
They all cried for my help, but I stood there numb

I gaze off into the boundless skyline
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine
Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield
And hope one day that this chaos and
Destruction turns for the better
Never a bow in hand
And that was when I ruled the land

It was the creepers and Skeletons
Blew down the doors and boxed us in
Arrows whizzing by like streaks of light
I tried all that I could to stay and fight

As the undead roamed the street
Families broken at my feet
Life itself suspended by a thread
Oh, why is it that I wasn't dead

I gaze off into the boundless skyline
Noteblock choirs playing in the sunshine
Turn 'round pick up my sword and wield
The blade that once forced evil mobs to yield
If this battle should leave me slain
I know Herobrine will call my name
Better to take a stand
And that was when I ruled the land

Cover art for Fallen Kingdom lyrics by TryHardNinja

It's clearly a metaphor for his career. Captain Sparklez knew this would be the peak in his career. The song was hyped for weeks so he knew he had to deliver. What better way than to parody one of the greatest bands in history: Coldplay. Arguably the best band for being the main inspiration for bands such as Queen, Radiohead, Metallica, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, and REM.

It starts out with "I used to rule the world," signifying the song takes place after his glory is over. He is no longer the king of youtube. The rest of the stanza is a direct reference to the game that made him famout: Minecfart. "They once were terrified," takes Sparklez back to when he first started youtube, along with other creators, stumbling across this strange new world.

"One minute we had it all" - this stanza shows the rise and fall in fame on youtube and highlights sparklez's fear of lesing everything he worked to build in seconds. The next stanza refers to the glory he feels being famous online and shows he enjoys the attention and comfortable life.

The "creepers" and "skeletons" are the trolls and other youtubers who work to destroy his channel. This is where the mood shifts from nostalgia to painful as he regretfully remembers his downfall. "As the undead . . . why was it that i wasnt dead" was his contemplation of suicide once he lost it all. The last stanza is a rememberence to the good old days as the song ends. In the music video, the king jumps to his doom (and dies) and this signifies the true end of his fame but also an acceptence that its over.

Truly a beautiful song <3
