Look...The Sun Is Rising

MKUltra did a bunch of illegal things pertaining to mind control. They used hypnosis, drugs (like LSD), and a lot of other weird things to achieve their goals. I definitely agree with zopwx2- this song is referencing them. There was one specific group of tests that I think of when I hear this. Canadian Psychiatrist, Donald Ewen Cameron did experiments on patients to reprogram their brain. He used large doses of LSD and abnormal amounts of electroconvulsive therapy. This would put his test subjects into comas for months. While these subjects were in comas, tapes were played of repetitive statements and sounds. When the patient woke up from their coma they were often left with amnesia, inability to talk, etc. They also would sometimes think that their interrogators were their parents.

When I hear this song- especially the first two verses, I think of those experiments. The little spaceship in the clouds are the loops on the tapes you are hearing in your coma. You aren't sure how it got there, but it's all you know and "you want it to love you." You're told to love (or spill your secrets) and you're going to do what it wants regardless of how you feel about it.

I think there is a link to MKUltra and the act of loving. You get sort of brainwashed into it sometimes… You feel like you've really lost yourself "when you really miss her" and since this "she" is your life, "fear is all you hear" that she might leave

She loves you until you are out of your coma and done with your trip- then you are left with nothing. The world still goes on though (the sun is rising), the only difference is that you are an empty shell of a human being

What I think is that this song is about someone who knows he's being pulled towards something bad,but hes unable to stop himself from that..."that" which is incorrect ethically and morally .."mk utra",as the above two say maybe:

But somwhere deep inside he's guilty about it,he's fearing that his lover..who is no more is watching him doing these things.. "from behind the clouds" :

Also,

"Love is always something Something you should fear When you really miss her Fear is all you hear"

I like how the composer has referred to "love" here as something to be feared of.
