The song is about having someone so amazing that you fear it's a dream because this person is so remarkably amazing, that you feel they're out of your league.
Breaking the lyrics down a bit
A guy who was waiting for the longest time for his perfect girl. Was told he would never find someone like that, Eventually finds her though.
Everything he wanted she was,but she wasn't a dream. So he felt she was out of his league, and surprised someone like her Would be into a guy like him. She makes him feel alive (heart beat racing), and if he dies, he doesn't want to be awakened because she may be gone from fear it was a dream.
He pinch's himself is an expression to make sure you're not dreaming, and he finds it hard to believe that this perfect girl is into a guy like him. And for all this, he feel she is out of his league.

So many guys I've liked who are 'out of my league' but I never ended up with them lol so I can't exactly relate to the song.

I think it's fairly obvious what the song is about, but man, I really, really love both the studio and live versions of this. The live versions show off how it fits in with their previous work a little better, but my goodness, the studio version is so bouncy and fun, I can't help but want to jump around and dance to it. I know some people don't like that the sound on it has kind of skipped ahead 2 decades, but I like both decades' distinct sounds anyway so it's all good for me. Can't wait for the full album!
