From Nowhere Lyrics
Every now and then I fall
Every now and then I lose control
In your eyes I see your ghost surrounding me
And I've a little bit of thought for you
'Cause every now and then I fall a bit behind
Every time I stare into your eyes
'Cause every now and then I fall a bit behind
Every time I stare into your eyes
With your thrills, I find
It's not hard to be left behind
So I'll run, and you'll hide
We know better than to stay outside
You're cold and your awake
You said I should have never of stayed
But there's no better place for me
'Cause every now and then I fall a bit behind
Every time I stare into your eyes
'Cause every now and then I fall a bit behind
Every time I stare into your eyes
Every now and then I lose control
In your eyes I see your ghost surrounding me
And I've a little bit of thought for you
Every time I stare into your eyes
'Cause every now and then I fall a bit behind
Every time I stare into your eyes
It's not hard to be left behind
So I'll run, and you'll hide
We know better than to stay outside
You said I should have never of stayed
But there's no better place for me
Every time I stare into your eyes
'Cause every now and then I fall a bit behind
Every time I stare into your eyes

He's in love with a messed up girl. She hardly displays any emotions/ lacks of empathy (You're cold), doesn't really want a relationship with anyone (You said I should have never of stayed) and I guess she also has some mental illness like depression, since he can see her ghost (the ghost is her death self, i.e. some parts of her feel dead.) in her eyes, her eyes therefore look dead/hopeless/tired. Also, and that's the main point of the whole song, she messes up the singers' life. Every time he stares into her eyes, therefore every time he sees inside her who she really is, he loses control over his life. I also think that he stares into her eyes to let her know he's interested in her, and she's scared of relationships and therefore every time he tries to get closer to her he actually scares her and therefore is left lost and disappointed. Even though she seems to lack of emotions, I think that she is in love with him but sees how she messes up his life and is therefore aware of the fact that he's better of without her. 'It's not hard to be left behind. So I'll run' Instead of quitting 'looking into her eyes' to stop being left behind, the singer wants to run ahead so that once he'll be left behind he will be exactly where he needs to be. The singer has pretty strong feelings for this girl and is willing to organise his life in a way that allows him to lose control over it regularly without messing it up too much, just to be allowed to spend time with her. She on the other hand 'hides' from him, because she sees that it's better for him to be without her. The song ends with him holding on to his belief that she's the best thing that could possibly happen to him, while she still insists that he'd be way better off if he'd stop sticking to her (You said I should have never of stayed. But there's no better place for me)
"It was written back in january when I purchased a new organ, the first thing I did when I plugged it in was start playing with the organ drums and suddenly the main riff came ‘from nowhere’. I went to grab my laptop to quickly record it before I forgot it, named the session ‘from nowhere’ temporarily, but it ended up sticking to the song. In the end it turned out to be quite a fitting title for my first single." - Dan on Marley's Musicality (http://www.marleysmusicality.com/2012/12/18/dan-croll-interview/)
This song gives me moments of pure awesomeness and great sadness. The music itself is just awesome, but the lyrics is saddening what he's dealing with. It's like he knows he's not doing all he should, but that's because he's trapped in her eyes.
beginners' lyrics. But somehow sweet.
