Somewhere Else Lyrics

Caught in a minute(?) in a dream that I had
Everything is perfect they're letting go of the past
Stop in the middle(?) with a dream in my head
Living the moment up on the edge

Somewhere else, but you are somewhere else (x2)

Rocks form the house(?) it is falling apart
Everything feels right right here, right from the start
Floating in the river ohoh holding your hand

Oh girl, red blood, I am your man

Somewhere else, but you are somewhere else (x4)

All i gotta do is go back
cause I lost my heart in a foreign place
All i got to do is go back
cause I lost my heart to you

But you are somewhere else, but you are somewhere else (x8)

This is a beautiful song. Hm. To me, it makes me think of Joshua Tree. The way that I feel when I camp out there for a few days.

And I'm about to move to Austin and I'm SUPER excited, and I loved this song before I even knew that was happening. But now when I listen to it, I can't help but feel Joshua Tree, in my thoughts, even though I'm still in California. (Living in Los Angeles, Born and Raised here too). Counting down my last few weeks before I move away from this city for the first time.

Anyway Joshua tree is a very special place for my husband and I. (3 hrs away from la) We got married there and is our favorite camping spot. And it brings the peace that us city folk NEED from time to time. Just refreshes our minds and soothes our souls...

Nostalgia and the fear of leaving something behind: this is all just a FEELING I get from listening to the song now.

And, actually, I didn't know all the lyrics until I found them on song meanings just now! and it's funny how well it clicks now:

"All i gotta do is go back cause I lost my heart in a foreign place All i got to do is go back cause I lost my heart to you"

I haven't moved YET, I'm still living in Los Angeles. But that verse totally resonates with what I'm feeling. Or with what I have a fear of feeling when I'm not here anymore.

Beautiful. Spacey. Feels.
