I don't think it's about domestic abuse at all (someone tagged it as such). it's about only getting together with someone twice a year and how damaging that is emotionally.
domestic abuse would make sense. calling the emergency number and hearing the "don't move, just stay right where you are". thinking to yourself "everything hurts but it's fine (it's fine)". letting it go, being manipulated:

holding on to your sanity with art:

the energy in the live performance i'm listening highlights the resentment, the vengeance. i don't know it's a great song and I'm pretty high
I think it's about miscarriage (or abortion). I think she hooks up with this guy frequently and got pregnant twice within one year and either lost the baby or had an abortion, but she never told him about it. Anyway, this is always what I think about when I hear this song.
