Clay Heart Lyrics
Long to go
We’ve both got long to go
But we’ll get there in the end
I should have known
That I’d be twice as slow
In taking time to mend
I can remould this
Turn it back to a heart shaped heart
Bend and fold this
Smoothing over the sharp parts
My broken heart is
My broken heart is just clay
Leave it out
It will grow mouldy
And be chucked into the bin
Its best left there
We could recycle that bit
But I don’t think there is much to go on
CHORUS
Broken heart
I’ll save for you
I’ll save for you
Another piece…
We’ve both got long to go
But we’ll get there in the end
That I’d be twice as slow
In taking time to mend
Turn it back to a heart shaped heart
Bend and fold this
Smoothing over the sharp parts
My broken heart is
My broken heart is just clay
It will grow mouldy
And be chucked into the bin
We could recycle that bit
But I don’t think there is much to go on
I’ll save for you
I’ll save for you
Another piece…

I feel sad listening to these lyrics in my head. I have no idea where this band originated from. I only think about what this person has lost, which sounds to be too much to not be affected in a psychological way. I can relate to things happening in one's life that have such an effect. I could elaborate and hope to give others the same message by saying that a child only remembers what they know will be helpful in life, what is not going to be of any aid is soon dismissed and if not entirely forgotten, comes back like a ghost to haunt them in later years. This was my experience. I am now trying to forget, yet I have been told that this is not good to do, either. So I need to work on admitting to true events from the past then healing. Maybe that's what this song is about.
